The Vehicle Inspection

Good afternoon everyone and welcome back to my blog post. I have been going through the process of becoming an Uber/Lyft driver this past week and it has been a little bit more then frustrating.

Today I sought out the Virginia Vehicle inspection and it took some time at one of the local shops but it was very simple. I have a BMW 335 and some of the tail light bulbs were out and they let me know this. Prior to getting the inspection signed this needed to be fixed. I went to the local BMW dealership and stopped in to see what the damage was going to be. The parts dealer Matt was great and assisted me in getting my parts and did not charge be for the 3 bulbs and I was very great full for this. After replacing the bulbs I went back over to auto inspection place and got it all signed off.

Loading the document was the next thing on the list to do so I sought this part out in the application and this was very ease.  Just taking a picture and loading it to the program and then the applications were completed.

Right after I did this Lyft sent me a notification that my application was denied for some reason and I need to follow up on this in order to find out what went wrong. Uber was a different story and they have been review my documents.

Now I will play the waiting game with Uber and find out what is next.

Stay tuned to find out how this goes.

Getting Started with the Companies

Over the past three days I have been getting all of the requirements completed in order to drive with each of the ride share applications. One this that I did not take in to consideration is all of the waiting time that is going on for my background check. This is becoming a longer process then I thought it would be but i hope it is all worth it. It really does not take a lot of time in order to set up your application. You have to have your drivers license, proof of insurance, your registration, an inspection for the state that you will drive in if it is required, and a background check. You can do all of this with the application that you should download.

Lyft driver and Uber driver are the two applications that you can do this with and are easy to down load on your phone. If you do not have a phone at the time you can do it at a desktop or laptop, but you will need a phone in order to do your driving.

I will keep you posted on the next step after my background check goes through.

Have a great day,

Introduction to Uber/Lyft

Good Morning and welcome to my new blog! My name is Rafael and I am going to be telling you about my experience going through the process of signing up and driving for Uber and Lyft. The first thing I would like to point out is that this is some thing that I am going to be doing as a side job on the weeknights and weekends in order to save up for a vacation for the family.

So I will get right in to it. Last week my cousin and I were talking about making some extra cash in California and he brought up Lyft and Uber. The thing that made this appeling for the both of us is that he had already drove for both of the companies and made a little bit of money during his time with them. The cool thing that most people see with the companies is that they have a referral program that will pay pretty good. Right now the program will give my cousin $350 if I complete 100 rides in a 30 day period and also give me the same bonus. So that is a total of $700 in our pockets with out getting paid for the job at had. One other part of this that is appealing for me is that I am in the Washington D.C. area and they are giving a good bonus here for new drivers as well at $1000 for 100 rides in the area because of the demand. So if I drive in the D.C. Area I would make $1350 in bonus for the first 100 rinds and that is not to bad.

So this is all the time that I have now. I will come back up on the net and let you all know how the registration process goes.

Thank You,
